Solana Beach, CA
Bio: I am an early childhood teacher that is passionate about children and the outdoors. I believe that children have a natural curiosity that drives their own education. As a teacher, it is my job to provide the children with the materials that will support their own creativity and help them make their own discoveries. I am thrilled to be the outdoor classroom teacher in what has become known as "The Garden Classroom" at Hanna Fenichel Center in Solana Beach, CA. The Garden Classroom has a gardening center with two raised beds and a worm composter, several nature centers, an area for building that uses mostly natural materials, several sensory centers, (raised, water and mud) an outdoor atelier and a beautiful, enclosed Art Cottage. We also have a school bunny named Princess who often visits and hops around freely! I am also the mother of two wonderful adult children and grandmother of two. I have been married to my husband Bill for 38 years. We love to ride our tandem bicycle around San Diego and camp. I also enjoy gardening, reading, scrapbooking and volunteering with a local group called T.A.C.O. that supports San Diego's homeless, working poor and seniors.
